Gerald Franz – Mobility Leader at Urban Innovation Vienna
Gerald Franz, an Austrian mobility expert, is currently the Mobility Leader at Urban Innovation Vienna GmbH. With over two decades of experience in sustainable mobility, urban development, and project management, he has become a key figure in shaping urban mobility in Vienna and beyond.
As the leader of the mobility team at UIV, he manages a group of five experts and is responsible for the content and personnel management of the team. His work includes coordinating service contracts with various departments of the Vienna City Administration, participating in strategic urban transport planning groups, and leading projects such as the Mobility Policy Innovation Lab.
Before his current role, Gerald was a Senior Expert in Mobility Management, where he advised on and developed mobility measures in urban development areas and spearheaded numerous e-mobility and shared transport projects. He was also responsible for coordinating initiatives like the “Radland NÖ” in Lower Austria.
With his expertise in sustainable mobility, mobility behavior research, and transportation planning, along with a strong network in the mobility sector, Gerald contributes to the sustainable development of urban transport and the enhancement of quality of life in urban environments.
